Possibly I Put Too Much Thought Into This
I wasn't ready for my Japanese presentation this morning, so I emailed my sensei, said I was sick and not coming to class, and asked if I could go to her office later in the week to do it instead. Ten minutes later I realized I couldn't miss anymore classes without killing my grade, so I sucked it up, threw together a presentation on Japanese festivals in < half an hour, and went anyway.
It's been that kind of week. Month. Whatever. But I am so sick of bitching, so. Let's talk about something else. Like the Great Shampoo Bar Experiment! I've been meaning to review the latest set of bars I tried out, and this is as good a time as any. Just for reference, I'm still using Chagrin Valley bars.

- Carrot, Milk and Honey - I probably won't buy this bar again. I didn't think about the fact that it would have protein when I ordered it, from the goat's milk, and as I've said before, my hair is not much of a protein fan. The smell is very mild, but it's still pretty distinctly carroty, and I wasn't crazy about that either. Moisturizing-wise this is a middle-of-the-road bar, not too cleansing or too moisturizing, which did work okay for me. And on the bright side, this bar did make my hair ridiculously shiny - seriously, it looked like I had polished it. Very cool.
- Lavender and Spice - I think I bought this one because hanjuuluver was so crazy about it, but it didn't do much for me. Worked okay, but nothing spectacular, and given that I really disliked the spice scent, not a re-purchase. Recommended more for people who have a dry or easily irritated scalp, which isn't my problem - my scalp gets oily while my length get all dried out. Honestly, I don't remember this bar well enough to say positive or negative, which I guess is pretty telling in and of itself.
- Rosemary Lavender Aloe - this one is on my permanent buy list now! I really, really loved it. It's slightly on the moisturizing side, I think, and left my hair feeling really good and healthy. I got good curls - not as good as camomile citrus, but still quite good - and no dryness on my ends. Mostly I love the way this bar smells - I have to admit it's already become a bit of a comfort thing for me, and I'm saving the last third of my bar for the trip home, when I'll be all exhausted and stressed out and need it.
