(Not So Much) Drawma
So draw numbers got released today and I drew 391 yay!
Which makes no sense to people not at Stanford, so - housing here is done on a lottery; you sign up, you get randomly assigned a number along with everyone else, and how low your number is determines which houses you can draw into - popular houses, like the co-ops on the Row, have really low cut-offs, and you can't get in unless you have a very low draw number, while less popular housing, like FloMo, has higher cut-offs and people who want to live there have a pretty good shot of getting in even with high draw numbers.
391 is low. 391 is apparently very low. I might not be able to get into a Row house or something, but pretty much I can live anywhere I want next year, which is awesome. I'm going back and forth right now between Okada - Asian theme dorm, which could be fun and might give me a chance to work on my language skills with Japanese speakers (plus my Chinese skills, if/when I take Chinese again) - and Laguanita, which has the benefit of a) being a really pretty building, b) having pretty good food, and c) giving me a much better chance of getting a single. So yeah.
As if I needed more things to stress about! *tries not to think about the 2nd Japanese midterm of DOOM tomorrow and the presentation on TS Eliot's The Wasteland which is also tomorrow fuckfuckfuck*

I kinda feel like I'm wasting my 390, since none of the places I want to draw into are hard to get, but meh...still jealous of whoever in Faisan got a 3 though!

You can live on the row! Pretty much anywhere you want. DO NOT WASTE THIS INCREDIBLE NUMBER ON OKADA OR LAGUNITA (where you won't get a single anyway, since sophomores have last choice on in-house draw, which has nothing to do with your draw number). PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS. IT HURTS MY SOUL. GIVE ME YOUR DELECTABLE NUMBER OR SOMETHING.
