Well that was surreal, and a brief rant against drug companies
Went to the clinic, got my birth control pills, which I shall now hide somewhere my grandma will never, ever, ever find them, because I would die of embarrassment if she did. Not like I'm even going to use them any time soon. Didn't get the exam, cause the lady said I didn't need one until I was 21 if I wasn't having sex. Whatever.
People who should never work in clinics like that: this was the surreal part. The woman who gave me my pills was like 60 and all matronly and very much "Is there anything you'd like to tell me, dear?" Ummm...no. Not really, no. Not when you're asking about my sex life. Fucking bizarre.
Drug company rant: didn't get the shot either, cause the lady said it was 240 bucks a visit and you need three rounds. What the fuck is wrong with this country when a vaccine that prevents CANCER is 700 dollars? I mean, you could say it's some rightist Christian plot to keep people from getting the drug, cause -god forbid- it might encourage them to have sex. But in reality? It's probably just the greedy drug companies. I'm going to defect to Canada, I swear. Going to see if I can get back on Medicaid so they'll the costs, anyway.

*grins* Little old ladies should not work in such places. Nope. Not at all. Of course, I'd probably feel less comfortable discussing said things with someone my mother's age... Maybe under thirty-five but over twenty-five?
I thought you had to get the exam when you turned eighteen - thanks for finding that out for me!
