*Is Very Happy Today*
Dec. 21st, 2007 06:01 pmI made cookies!!! XD
More specifically, I made bizcochitos. Which, for anyone who doesn't live here, are these wonderful thick flaky cookies with anise seeds in them and all covered in cinnamon-sugar. Mmmmmm. The only bad part is that you /have/ to make them with lard - you can use butter or shortening, but the texture isn't the same and they don't taste quite right. And, um, lard is icky. Very much so. So yeah. But they turned out really good and now I have Christmas cookies to enjoy. And one of my dad's clients gave him a giftcard today, so we got to go out to dinner, which was really nice. It feels like I've gone out to eat a lot since I've gone home, though.
Oh well. We got our menu all planned for Dim Sum Day (aka Christmas Eve), so there will be lots of lovely homemade food then. Including pot stickers, spring rolls, shrimp toast, some kind of chili squid thing,a nd golden fried zesty beef. Yay!
Also, I GOT INTO MY INTROSEM YAY! It's on the European Witch Hunts, and I was worried that name dropping Margaret Murray (even if it was to bash her) in my application would make me sound like a total loser and get me rejected. BUT IT DIDN'T. I'm really psyched about this, even if it means my schedule on T/Th will cause me to die (10 min to get from Bld 160 to the SLE Lounge, EEP). STILL IT IS AWESOME.
And I'm finally feeling less like I want to crawl under the covers and die. Go immune system.
All in all, a very very good day.

Date: 2007-12-22 03:30 am (UTC)At least 160 isn't too far away (although it's almost as far away as you can be in the quad, D:), even though you'll have to go uphill the whole way. If you just bike through the quad, go behind MemChu and up Duena St. (behind Tressider), you should be able to make it in no time, :D
Also, your cookies sound delicious, T__T I want one, ;)

Date: 2007-12-22 03:40 am (UTC)I'm envious. I don't know if we have a state cookie. Not that D.C. is a state, but VA is.
I'm envious of your cookied deliciousness.
