I Am a Madman With A Box!
Apr. 3rd, 2010 08:56 pmA few thoughts on The Eleventh Hour:
1. OH MY GOD AMY I LOVE YOU. Like, I could make a list of things I love about her, but it would be pretty much everything she does in this episode, from creating a folk legend out of Eleven to unashamedly checking out the naked Doctor to being emotionally vulnerable but going with him anyway. I also think she should hit him with a cricket bat at least once a week, just to keep him from getting self-important.
2. The eyeball was pretty cheesy, but Prisoner Zero as the mom and little girls with all the teeth wholly freaked me out. There is something inexplicably unsettling about voices that grossly mismatch their sources to me. And I am now eying the crack in my ceiling very much askance.
3. STEAMPUMPKIN TARDIS YES. I love this new TARDIS design a lot - it's so garish and over the top, in such a fantastic way. And while I'm not obsessively into steampunk, I do get a bit flaily over things that look like they came out of an unholy union between a western and a 50s pulp magazine. So much shiny!
4. The new Doctor is awfully flirty. I very much approve.
5. I haven't been this uncompromisingly gleeful over something I've watched in a long time. Just the whole episode I was sitting there grinning my fool head off, because the Doctor and the Companion and the show is so delightful. I LOVE ELEVEN SO MUCH ALREADY YOU GUYS.
