Why Can't I Feel Like This More Often?
Nov. 4th, 2007 12:33 amI'm feeling kind of bad-ass today. I've been...slacking really, really horribly on all of my writing this month - I have, what, 6, 7 WIPs at the moment? That's /pathetic/. But today?
Today I rocked.
I finished "Sublimation" (Akuroku), and a chapter of "Almost Doesn't Cut It "(Remus-centric, with heavy doses of RLSB) and sent them off to![[profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
telyanofcelore to be beta-ed. Go me! So I might actually be able to post something soon! Also, I have the structure of the 2nd chapter of Raising Shinobi almost completely worked out in my head, and I think when I actually sit down to write it, I'll be able to get through it relatively quickly...so it's just a matter of waiting to be in a mood for writing humor?
On the less good side, I keep changing plots for the gift!fic for Truly_Wished...it started out as wacky cross-dressing hijinks...and then it became a get-together fic...and then last night I was thinking about some ideas I've had for Ed's "being homeless" complex, and wanted to have a moving-in fic. I...don't know anymore! Truly_Wished? Preference?
And, um, I'm pretty sure I missed the deadline for NaNo, but that does not stop my brain, which spent most of dinner obsessing over two separate plot-lines for original novels/stories, both of which are interesting enough that I may have to write them anyway. The first would be a series of short stories, all connected by the common theme of a charmed.. I don't know, penny or keychain or something, that allows the person holding it to see one thing/situation/person for what it really is. At the end of each little vignette, the character would hand the charm off to someone else, who would center in the next story. Could be fun, ne? The second story is more fantasy - I haven't worked out more than a little of the plot, but it would be about a young man who joins a rebel group because he falls in love with one of the leaders, and is then revealed to be the heir/chosen one/you know how this works. Except that this is totally a CON. The kid really is just a street punk with no special talent except for whatever he has on his own, but the evil manipulative rebel leader let everyone think he was because it serves some nefarious purpose. I like to fuck with my characters, ne? Now I just need to figure out why the evil rebel leader would do this, and why they are rebelling, and why they /need/ a heir/chosen one/whatever, and who they are fighting, etc etc...*sweat drops* this could take a while. Still, I like messing with fiction memes, not to mention the wonderful possibilities inherent in a gay male character in love with his commanding officer. Um...this doesn't sound too much like FFVII, does it?
On a completely unrelated note, I hate that I CANNOT listen to the song "I Will Carry You" by Clay Aiken. Seriously. One line and I am flat-out sobbing, whether I'm in my room, on my bike, in a crowd of 300 drunken frat boys (this hasn't come up yet, but I have no doubt), doesn't matter. Damn you stupid brain! I don't care that it makes you think of Zack and Cloud! It's a pretty song and I'd like to be able to listen to it!
