Thought of the Day

Why are there so few soccer and/or ice skating AUs? I mean, soccer involves extremely hot, athletic guys who are frequently sweaty or shirtless or both, and figure skaters, while incredibly tough and skilled, participate in pretty much the gayest sport /ever/. You'd think the fangirls would be all over that. I makes me sad that there not enough of either of those AUs. 

I could post about Torchwood Season 2 and the total awesomeness that was Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, but any criticism I could come up with has already been said more articulately by many others, so I will restrain myself to a few comments. 

1) I and the rest of the Owen-lovers were totally vindicated here. Yay Owen! You're still an asshole, but a redeemable asshole!
2) OMG JAMES MARSTERS IS HOT WHEN HE'S SNOGGING GUYS (AND ALSO WHEN HE'S NOT)
3) Damn you Gwen. I was really hoping you would shape up as a character this season (and we did see indicators that she's going to be written better), but you blew it with the "Well no one else will have me" line. Rhys deserves /so/ much better than you, bitch. Also the Jack/Gwen scene confused me muchly, if only because Jack looked so /terrified/ by her.
4) No speculation from my corner on who Grey/Gray/Grace may or may not be, as I do not know enough about the Doctor Who context of Captain Jack's character to form a solidly-based opinion, but I do rather like the idea I saw on someone's commentary that Gray could be Jack and John's son from the five years in the time loop. Because Torchwood would totally try to pull off canon MPreg. They are just that awesome.
5) OMG *SQUUEEEE* THE JACK/IANTO IT IS BEAUTIFUL AND HOT AND SWEET AND PERFECT AND I ALMOST KNOCKED MY LAPTOP OFF MY BED DURING THAT SCENE WITH MY ECSTATIC FLAILING. Seriously, they only had a few Jack/Ianto scenes, but they were so pitch-perfect, I was just horribly impressed - they are really setting this pairing up to be more than a casual fling, I think, and it shows in all the emotions playing in the scenes with the two of them. The office scene, in particular, just felt so real, like there is so much going on besides what they are saying. It made me very happy. Also, Jack's "I came back for you..." *significant pause in which he looks at Ianto and then remembers himself* "...all of you" is the line fangirl dreams are made of. Yay! Also, Ianto you are wonderful and competent and I love you and your Tea Tray of Justice and your PINK!shirts and just your general win. *glomps Ianto*
