I'll be home for spring break (YAY) and staying at least part of the time at my mom's apartment, and she led the internet go away because it's just the two of us and without my laptop internet=kinda pointless when I'm there one week out of six months. Since it's an apartment complex, I /might/ be able to get onto the network of one of the other people in the building, but I'm not really counting on it. Meanwhile, at my dad's there is internet, but when I was there for Christmas I had a lot of problems getting on because of something or other he did to the encryption while I was gone. I'll see when I get back I guess. I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope it is working, because I'm not sure I can do 10 days of internet deprivation without losing it completely. And using my grandma's or my dad's computer is a poor solution at best, since that would limit my access to when they weren't on and um, also, I go on sites I don't them to know I go on (shut up I'm taking about yaoi more than porn). Yeah. *sigh* It's going to be a long break if I don't have internet.
On the other hand, it will make it easier to participate in the lj boycott on friday. I'm not as madly incensed about the whole situation as many people seem to be - my attitude to the whole thing has been one of detached "well that's kind of stupid and obnoxious" rather than "asd;lkasdjfdfjaf;kj THESE ASSHOLES MUST SUFFER A FIERY PAINFUL DEATH". And apparently I am in the great minority of people who don't think the plus accounts are a tool of Satan and lesser minions (I'm looking at you, Crowley) - I don't really notice the ads that much, and I don't care about them when I do, so whatever. But even with my lack of spittle-flinging rage I can concede that the management is not on at all, and I don't mind showing my support for the people who are truly pissed. And of course, a lack of response to stuff like this could lead to fandom being in a really bad place later. And that would make me sad, as lj is my most reliable source for tooth-rotting slashy fluff and hardcore porn. And I don't look kindly on people who threaten my access to fictional characters having kinky gay sex. I LIKE MY MANSEX, ALRIGHT?
On the topic of gay sex, how many times has everyone watched that scene in Torchwood 2x11 by now? Yeah. /THAT/ scene. *has watched it at least 20 times by now* Those 10 seconds or so were enough to send me into paroxysms of fangirlish glee for /hours/.
