I was hoping that moving to another state with completely different flora would have the effect of confusing my immune system to the point that it would only attack things it is /supposed/ to attack, ie germs, and spend the rest of the time wandering around in little circles. Alas, this does not seem to have worked as well as I might have hoped. Admittedly, it's not as bad as it would be if I were back in NM, where at this time of the year I would not be able to breathe or see at all, but I am very, very, very quickly getting sick of coming back from class every day with a headache bad enough that I'm more or less useless the rest of the day.

The frustrating thing is that there doesn't seem to be much I can do about it. I have drugs, but they're OTC and not terribly effective, but I can't get anything stronger as far as I know because most insurance plans only cover Claratin, the bastards, and I don't think crying hysterically for no reason or walking into walls would be conducive to academic study. And since I have a 10-15 walk to class every day, I can't avoid going outside either.  Bah. Stupid body. The lovely thing - next year's probably going to be much, much /worse/, once my body's gotten used to all the new pollen and decided it's evil too. Oh /joy/.

On the bright side, I sent my registration packet for Yaoi-Con off yesterday. And I'm loving my new comics fandoms (Superman/Batman and Captain America/Iron Man, for the curious), even though there isn't nearly enough writing in either of them. And I'm having fun using all my new music as a weird, geeky form of passive-agressive revenge against my roommate - like, "you and your boyfriend annoy me, so I'm going to make you listen to filk and Irish ballads mwahahaahaaa".  Also, there is some kind of massive drama going on in my dorm that has spilled into chalk messages covering half of White Plaza and every inch of concrete between our dorm and the student union, but I have no idea what's actually going on. Yay for minimal observation skills!
