Ack, I keep starting to post and then running out of things to say and closing down and never coming back to it. So. What I have been doing:

  1. Work! We started taking calls this week, which has been so much fun, in an utterly terrifying way. I mean, hands up, who finds it dismaying that I'm being paid to deal with people's credit reports and tell them how to raise their credit scores so they can get loans, mortgages, etc? But in all honesty, I'm really liking the work, I like dealing with the customers, and I got my first save today! Which is weird, because I couldn't get the nice, polite people who said they liked the product to change their minds about cancelling, but I /did/ convince the pissed off couple from New Jersey. And I'm still pissed off about a guy who hung up on me yesterday after the people who transferred him to me lied about what I could do for him. Stupid fucking synergy people who transfer all their calls to us so they won't take the cancel hits.
  2. Batman! I fiiiiiiiiinally saw The Dark Knight on Sunday. AND OMG SO AWESOME. I think I liked Iron Man better, because, hello, I LOVE TONY, while my Batverse interest is mostly directed towards the various Robins (Nightwing/Arsenal and Tim/Kon/Bart FTW!), but Batman was still completely and utterly phenomenal. Not flawless - Rachael's fridging and the replacement of Babs with random boychild Gordon pissed me off (even if I didn't care one bit about Rachael, fridging in general is lame), Bale's performance was not spectacular - and the Batman!voice was so unbelievably annoying - and it went on longer than was probably necesssary, but for the most part, wow. NO complaints about Ledger's Joker, since he creeped me the fuck out in the most serious way, Harvey Dent was pretty and then less pretty and more crazy but wonderful the whole way, and GORDON, LOVE GORDON. So yeah, great movie, would fangirl again.
  3. Writing...not so much? Still working the Boostle wedding ring fic - it's maybe halfway done, still have to get through dead/un-dead!Booster, Superbuddies-era, and the OMAC/Infinite Crisis Ted!Death of Extreme Emo. May or may not bring it up to current continuity (which is shot-by-Max-and-then-incincerated-dead!Ted -> time-travel-rescue!Ted -> horrible apocalyptic Max-controlled!future -> sacrificing-himself-for-the-greater-good-of-the-time-stream(but really so Booster won't disappear forever)dead!Ted -> more emo Booster (with bonus non-emo time-travel-rescued-not-dead!sister)). So you can see how this poses some issues in plotting out/writing. Also working on plots (no actual writing involved yet, woe), for two original fiction type things - the first is from a drabble I did a while back about Jake, the superhero whose boyfriend dies to save two passenger trains full of people. He, uh, kind of got stuck in my head, and now I want to write a novel about him, and how he starts out a not very nice person, and then being a hero and falling in love with Shane makes him a better person, and then losing Shane, and  becoming the head of Shane's Justice League type thing even though he didn't want to, because he couldn't let Shane's dream die, just kind of kills him and makes him all bitter and angry. Could be fun, yes? The other one is a short story about the gods of spacers. Yeah, yeah, I know. Also I'm putting the finishing touches on a Torchwood AMV to Aimee Mann's song Deathly, which isn't writing but is fandom.
  4. Jewelry! While I was at my mom's this weekend, we made earrings, since it was my birthday and I only had two pairs, which is kind of silly. So now I have one pair that are kind of heavy silver wings, one pair that are silver filigree leaves, and one pair that has these little crosses - like three for each earring - on different lengths of chain. So much fun!
