Thank God It's Friday, Yeah?
Feb. 13th, 2009 04:34 pmSo today did not get off to a great start. That would be because I was woken up at some god forsaken hour by a MARIACHI BAND. In the HALLWAY. I...I...WHAT THE FUCK STANFORD. According to roommate it had something to do with Valentine's Day, but still, SO RANDOM.
It really messed with my mind, too - after I went back to sleep, I had this insane dream where Torchwood 3 killed a cockatrice in the living room of my old house. I still can't decide if it was a good dream or a bad dream. I mean, the cockatrice attacked a bunch of people before they fought it, and those parts were very graphic and bloody and really scary. But on the other hand, Ianto was hitting on Jack outrageously the whole time, so that was kind of great.
Anyway, I was not expecting much from today after that very rocky start. But then I managed to get my hair into a new, very cute updo (instructions here) - basically you do two narrow braids at the front, then weave them into a single nape braid, then flip the braid and pin it up with a claw clip, if that makes any sense. But it's neat! Even though it made me wish my braid was longer/thicker/less tapered. But that will come in time!
And then when I checked my mailbox, there were many awesome things in it! *grins* I love getting mail. What I got:

- Showcase Presents Booster Gold - I actually got this the other day, but it is fantabulous and also quite long, so I'm still reading it. I do wish it wasn't all in black and white, but it does in a lot of panels make it look like he's running around shirtless and/or naked, and I can hardly protest that. Original Booster was pretty. I may be posting more about this soon.
- Marvel Adventures: Avengers 1 - can't wait to read this! The colors are so bright and the art is so cute and the superheroes are so super-heroic yay!
- New shampoo from Chagrin Valley - also lip balm that I am already in love with. I bought four different sample bars (Cafe Moreno, Camomile & Citrus, Extra Honey, Beer & Egg, and Summer Sunshine) last week. The smell is a little strong, but I think that is just from having four different bars in one box. I am trying to decide now if I want to try one out tonight, even though it will throw off my wash schedule, or wait until tomorrow. Such a delimma!
