Almost Made It
Mar. 16th, 2009 03:25 pmOne final exam down, one (and my short story revision) to go!
My Japanese exam actually went pretty well, I think - as much as I am ever good at reading that sort of thing. There were only a few questions I couldn't answer at all (my listening comprehension, watch me NOT HAVE ANY), and a couple others I could only in part because of vocab fail - I totally blanked on the verb for 'to keep a promise'. But I did remember 'to laugh' halfway through out of nowhere. So I'm going to put that class solidly in the category of Did Not Fail. Yay!
Went to the bookstore and bought my Flying Home Book today too (I've been all kinds of productive, yes?). I was planning on getting a Neil Gaiman book, like I have the last few times, but the only grown-up book they had was Neverwhere, which I've already read, and the kids' books I would finish before I even left San Francisco, which is hardly helpful. Back up plan was The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, which I've been meaning to read for a couple years, but while they had several Chabon books they did not have that one. D:
So I went with the back up back up plan, and I now have a copy of World War Z in my bookbag. Hopefully it will be fun and interesting and not leave me too traumatized to sleep.
Now back to studying and working on short story, oh boy.
