My Room Is A Case In Unpacking Fail
Jul. 14th, 2009 01:56 amSlowly but surely, my room is beginning to resemble the bedroom an actual person lives in, rather than a storage closet with a bed (and a TV that I only ever turn on at 4 in the morning when I can't sleep and end up watching reruns of M*A*S*H). Good in that I can access more of my stuff when it isn't in boxes, bad in that it is one less thing I have in common with Benton Fraser (and I swear to god as I was typing this sentence, RayV's actor showed up on the episode of NCIS I am watching, WTF). Which is already a short list, since I'm not male or Canadian or a Mountie. Anyway. This weekend I unpacked several boxes of books (I seriously did not know I had that many books on Wicca...) and my dad helped me hang up the big painting I brought from my room at my grandma's.
At least my decorating hasn't taken away from the basic cave-like nature of my room. It's awesome - it's not a big room to begin with, and it only has one window, which is covered by the world's largest, heaviest brown suede curtain. At noon there is barely enough light in the room to see your hand in front of your face. Which is a wonderful wonderful thing because it is UNBEARABLY HOT HERE OMG. And since it's the desert in the middle of the summer, it isn't just that it's hot, it's that it's bright, that kind of hard, heavy brightness where it's physically painful to look anywhere but at the ground when you go outside. Needless to say, I'm spending a lot of time hiding in my cave and not going outside.
colourofsaying and I spent this evening working on (or at least talking about) the DS/TW Crossover of Doom. We named our alien drug! And the coffee machine! And worked out some minor early plotty bits, and I started the prologue, although I only got a little bit written. But we have actual story titles now, which is cool. Ha, this is a fun project.
