Good:
1) Finished my second short story for my fiction class, with an hour to spare before I have to go down and turn it in. Which is good because it takes fuck-all long to print 10 copies of a 15 page story. But I like how it turned out - it can definitely use some work, but that is what workshopping is for in the first place, and hey, a flawed draft of a story that can be fixed is 1000x better than a perfect story that still hasn't made it out of your head.
2) Got an email from the registrar confirming that my program proposal has been approved, so I am now Officially Officially an English major. Which, yeah, I didn't think there were going to be any problems, but it's nice to know for sure.
3) Signed up for Yuletide! It's my first year doing it, so I'm a little nervous. But there were a couple fandoms that I really wanted to have fic for (ie incredibly slashy books we've read in my lit classes this term), so I thought I'd give it a shot. We'll see how it goes!
Bad:
1) We just found out my cousin got his girlfriend pregnant. My cousin who hasn't worked at the same job for more than 8 months since he was fifteen. My cousin who has been on probation/drug counselling for the last four years. My cousin who right now is living in a shack with no electricity and no water. Yeah, I see this going great.
2) Siiiiiiiick. I wrote my boss this morning and asked to change shifts from tonight because I thought I was coming down with something, and I am so glad I did that because now I feel like crap. Sore throat, coughing, headache, low grade fever, the works. I am going to go turn my short story in, and read the couple of poems I have for my lit class, and then I am GOING TO BED. Or at least huddling under the covers and watching cartoons.
