masterofmidgetsDid I not promise I would post scans tonight? Well, after two hours of wrangling with my printer (we have what could be best called an adversarial relationship), I have scans!
Context: Cable is off building his paradise on earth on the island of Providence (with his boyfriend Deadpool). Various governments are flipping their shit. Also SHIELD. So Nick Fury sends in Cap, because Cap is Awesome.
I'm not sure what I love most about this panel: Steve's secret undercover codename being 'Roger Stevens', his voice boxes being striped red white and blue, or how happy he looks painting a mural. With children! (I <3 happy!Cap)
I...didn't think holistic could be used as a noun, but okay. Happy Steve!
Awww, Steve wants to stay in Providence. But what about your boyfriend, Cap? (actually, the first page has a panel of Cable talking to Tony, so he's probably already got his bags packed :D )
I didn't scan the next part, but here's what happens: Steve and Nate fight, and lo, there is much ass-kicking. And then Nate, who is re-psychic-ed, throws Cap into one of his missions. Namely, the mission he and his team went on to reclaim Cap's shield.
How much do I love the idea of Steve's shield being a symbol of justice and awesome even in the apocalyptic future? SO MUCH.
Hee sarcastic!Steve. But mostly I just think this is an interesting dynamic playing out here.
I didn't really get into comics until after Civil War (thank god), so I don't know if this ever went anywhere or if it's just random paranoia. Must find out.

Definitely worth buying, in my not-so-humble opinion. :DDDD
I'll probably post the scans to Scans_Daily 2.0 and Cap_Ironman tomorrow, but right now I have Japanese to be memorizing.
