Behold: The Dynamic Duo!

Well, I finally broke down and did it. I bought Good Omens. Because - well, it's /Good Omens/! Does that really require any further explanation?! But no, I mean, it's been driving me crazy that I haven't read it in long enough that I'm losing my ability to remember scenes and quote it, and we're doing so much Biblical literature in SLE this year, and all you have to do is mention The Garden of Eden or Divine Will for me to start cackling and muttering about Ineffability and The Arrangement. I have no shame! 

Also I just worship this book. Terry Pratchett! And Neil Gaiman! Together! It's possibly one of most truly awesome partnerships I could conceive of. The two of them separately rank significantly higher in my worldview than, say, Jesus - together? Things should burst into fiery explosion as soon as they enter the same room.

You know how sometimes you have a vague memory of something you really really loved once, when you were younger, and you go back and it's just incredibly underwhelming - not necessarily bad, per se, but more like "I don't get it. I remember this being so awesome and it's just...not. Why was I so impressed?" NOT SO WITH THIS BOOK. If anything, it is ten thousand times better than I remember it being. It is fabulous and wonderful and lovely and absurd and I get so many more of the jokes now and GODS I LOVE IT *HEARTSHEARTSHEARTS*

Sorry about that. But I'm really excited about this book. Which is awesome.

yes. It is The Shit. And if anyone mentions houseplants, Queen, ducks or bookstores, I crack up. Or tweed. Especially if it is an accidental combination. It is impossibly awesome and wonderful and have you by any chance seen the author pic of Neil Gaiman from his Young and Gorgeous days?
