Jul. 23rd, 2009 02:12 pmMy dad suddenly decided that a) we need to go to Elephant Butte, and b) we need to leave in the next two hours. So, yeah, doing that.
Right now I am trying to find my swimsuit (I know it's not in California, so where the hell is it? This room is not that big!) and decide what shampoo and books to take with me. We're staying at his boss' cabin, which has satellite TV but no internet, so I'll be offline until Saturday. I miss it already. Hopefully it doesn't thunderstorm too badly up there so I can actually enjoy the lake.
Trying not to think about the abandoned hospital at the bottom of the lake or the five-year-old car full of bodies they pulled out a few weeks ago where a guy killed himself and his kids (deliberately, I mean) driving into the water. If I don't come back, it's probably because I'm in my watery grave, and I expect one of y'all to avenge my death.
