Aug. 13th, 2009 03:34 pmUpdate on my grandfather: definitely gallstones, which sucks and he's pretty miserable, but it isn't life-threatening and he'll be home tomorrow. He still needs to have surgery to have them removed. It's a simple procedure that can be done in-office by his doctor, but because of his age and other underlying medical problems, they have to wait to consult with his cardiologist, his nephrologist, his endocrinologist, etc etc before they can do the surgery, to make sure there aren't any complications. It might be as much as three weeks before they get everyone signed off to do it. But barring any unforeseen circumstances, he's going to be all right. We're going to visit him tomorrow, once he gets home from the hospital and settled back in.
Thanks for everyone who sent good thoughts to him. It really means a lot to me.
