More Drabbles!

Trying to get back into the swing of writing things after the flying clusterfuck that was last quarter, and in my search for inspiration, I found this site, which is terribly, terribly fun. And it gave me prompts, and now I am writing them, or trying to, at least. So there will probably be a few more of these, maybe tonight even.

 

Even years later, when Ceredigion had gone from a label putting out a few indie albums a year to one of the biggest names in the business, and every press agent worth their badge had sifted through their past, no one was quite sure where Elfinn had found the boy.

 Oh, there were rumors, of course, there were always rumors. People had been whispering for years that Taliesin was really the bastard child of the famous designer Ceridwen (and she was about the right age to be his mother, and just enough of a bitch to have tossed him out, at that…). And everyone knew, with the certainty only granted to nebulous half-truths made common knowledge, that Elfinn had walked into a nightclub looking for a quick blow from a cute boy and come out with a new singer contracted to his label – and perhaps to his bed, although that rumor only came later.

 But for all that everyone believed them, they were still just tales; all anyone knew for sure was that one day Elfinn was a two-bit producer working out of his garage and the next day – well, everything after that was history, legend even.

 Starting with the day Elfinn walked into Gwynedd Studios and said with a smirk that he had a kid who could out-sing any of Maelgwn’s chart-topping pretty-boys, and was willing to stage a concert to prove it.
