I don't know where the idea came from - possibly from having to wear my hair up for work - but I'm wondering suddenly if I want to do something different with my hair. Not cut it off! I had short short short hair (like, barely touched my ears) up until high school, and I look /awful/ with it. My mom's been saying for months, after I mentioned something about a girl in my dorm, that I should donate my hair to Locks of Love or something. And I don't know - I could probably cut off enough to donate and still have long hair - as it is now it's almost? waist length - but I'm not sure I want to cut off even that much. I /like/ my ridiculously, impractically long hair.

So I'm thinking more in terms of styling it differently, I guess? Maybe wearing it up some of the time, or back, or /something/, I don't even know, or dyeing more or less of it  - I have streaks in the front now, blue-tinted bleach colored (which strangely looks better than it sounds) and soon to be purple again (probably - that's the color dye I have at moment, anyway), but when she's not trying to get me to cut it off my mom keeps trying to convince me to dye /all/ of my hair some weird color.

Point of the rambling, dash abusing post being - anyone have any suggestions for what I could do with my hair? Or should I just ignore the impulse until it goes away and leave my hair as is?

Ooooh, do something extravagant and ridiculous with your hair! It grows back so if it looks fugly, no harm done. Ooooh, oooh, you should do what I do occasionally! Go to get it cut and tell the haircutter to do whatever s/he likes.

If you are considering donating your hair, you can check out websites that give the requirements for donation. Since you color your hair, it may not be an option for you depending upon what type of coloring you use. Many will not accept permanent coloring or bleached hair.
