And Now To Collapse and Die
Dec. 13th, 2008 11:59 pmI am alive in New Mexico. Trip was surprisingly uneventful. Made all my transfers fine, got the airport with plenty of time to spare, didn't have to walk too far, had time to eat lunch AND dinner. Both flights were fine, even if we had to sit at the gate an extra 40 minutes in Phoenix, which was terribly terribly boring since I'd already finished my book. I'm half waiting still for the other shoe to drop and, I don't know, the car to spontaneously explode or something. But really it was a good trip, all things considered, and all I can do is hope that this is going to be par for the course and not a strange aberration in the pattern.
Once I'm not dead tired, I may squee about Neverwhere, which despite
telyanofcelore 's reservations I thought lovely and brilliant and wonderful and many other good adjectives.
Am at my dad's now, which is full of unpacked boxes and wads of paper and other such signs of recent moving-in. I have no bed, but I do have a tiny thin narrow mattress on the floor. What I do not have is reliable internet - they haven't hooked up his cable/satellite yet, so my ethernet cable is nigh on useless. Luckily he has a broadband USB modem, but there is only one, and we are sharing it, so I can't be on when he is on. And since he does work on his computer, I may have to concede access to him a good bit of the time. Woe. And I will be completely without my computer for a day or two this week so Max can be taken to the shop. But after that, all my computer issues will hopefully be fixed.
