masterofmidgets: (Jack/Ianto)
So, for a good bit of time when I was in high school and had no internet, I was really, obsessively into Stargate SG-1 - watched the Sci Fi channel marathons every Monday, held long rambling discussions with our roommate (my aunt's ex-girlfriend was rooming with us at the time) about how adorably sexy Daniel was before he cut his hair, I even did a class project making a Civilian's Guide To Recognizing the Goa'uld this was kind of an open-ended class. And then around the 7th season, Jack started taking a back seat, and they started introducing new characters I didn't give a damn about, and the writing/plots got less good IMO, and I just lost interest and pretty much stopped watching. I never watched Stargate: Atlantis at all, since it seemed like just a newer, shiny version of the regular Stargate for people who couldn't appreciate the awesomeness that was Jack, Daniel, Teal'c and Sam.

I'm starting to regret that now. Somehow I ended up the other day on a page of SGA slash recs, and HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO STOP READING  RODNEY/JOHN IS SO HOT. And there's snark and bad physics jokes and John's /hair/ and lovelovelove. Also John Sheppard (or, well, the actor who plays him) is a pretty pretty boy. I would be willing to put up with a hell of a lot of plot holes and silly writing just to be able to spend hours staring at him getting sweaty and blowing things up and being homoerotic at his Canadian.

So yeah. Going to watch SGA now. And maybe Supernatural, since [profile] telyanofcelore's been fangirling about it and the Wincest all over the place lately, and I generally trust her taste. I'm really behind in my pop culture, y/y?

No one I know at the moment ships any comics fandom, and that makes me sad, because it means none of my friends will be able to appreciate the fact that I just found on my playlist a song that pretty much perfectly sums up the Tony/Sentient Armor pairing. Well, from the POV of the armor, at least - from Tony's POV, and the audience's, there is not so much sympathy for the armor as HOLYFUCKABUSIVEBOYFRIEND (except at the end where Tony goes all Stockholm Syndrome...)

The Bitter Boy by Kate Rusby

Poor armor...It loves you, Tony! It only wants to protect you! It's doing this for your own good, you know!

If you have no idea whatsoever what on earth I'm talking about...check out this link to see Tony Stark's armor become sentient, fall in love in with him, and then turn into the abusive boyfriend from hell. Because there is no crack like canon crack! and Marvel has no shame
